It is not strictly true that Mammals (derived synapsids) evoloved from reptiles. Living reptiles form a monophyetic group which share a common ancestor independant from that of mammals. Instead mammals and reptiles evolved independantly from an (non-mammalian non-reptilian) early amniote.

On the Ambliocetus...:> yeah I caught that too, I was reading AIG to see what kind of new BS they had, and came upon them mentioning that, bothered me slightly so I looked it up, first artical was a picture of the 75% or so skeleton with everything they said was missing...funny how they love to leave out half the evidence all the time.
