Look at the photo at 1:19. It's a 1 year with the gross musculature of an athletic 19 year old.
He challenges Jack ... ( 2 months ago by BaVoBa)
He challenges Jack (the player) to act on free will by testing him. Rather than to act like the drone that he is. The outcome is unfortunate for him, but maybe that's what he wanted, because the rapture that he wanted is gone anyway. My interpretation :)

In an Objectivist government, there are courts of law, a police force and a strong military. Rapture lacked this.

Very true - Andrew Ryan's error was hating authority so much that he couldn't even stand the idea of a court of law, especially when he really only had one law.

No, he really wanted to die, he knew he losted, realized that his city, his beloved city was falling apart and that Atlas won. he was just showing his son that he was just an instrument.

Man, I wish I could keep that golf club. Not that I have anything against the wrench, but so many golf puns I could do with a weapon like that. "Splicer! Meet my wood!" "I'll PUTT you out of your misery!" "Time for a hole-in-one, IN YOUR HEAD!" The possibilities are endless.

I've never played this game, and probably won't because I am so not into FPS's. But even so, I can't help being completely enamored with the story! I would love to read a novelization, or watch a movie adaptation. (As long as it's not directed by Uwe Boll! D:)

honest to god, if you were ever going to put aside your aversion to a genre (I share your pains, only mine are targeted at the RPG genre) this is the game to do it for. No game has ever had an atmosphere capable of immersing the gamer like Bioshock has.

So I've heard. And from what I've seen I completely believe it! The problem is that violence and carnage do not equal horror for me. Manly it just makes me frustrated. I think it definately has it's place in any horror story, but it should stay in the back seat, so that when you see it or have to share in it, it has more impact.

I understand that, and agree to a degree, although horror these days equals violence (saw, hills have eyes, texas chainsaw, etc.) It's important that while this game does have its startling moments, it certainly is NOT a survival horror. This is a first person shooter with rpg elements. the startling moments are just one more way to soften you up for the story, to keep you alert.

Ryan's problem was the freedom he gave people. It was too much. With no freedom, the system collapses. With too much freedom, it explodes outwards. There has to be a balance. Like in the United States, there's a balance, which is why this is a darn good country!
